APPLICATION
AMERICAN CONCRETE INSTITUTE ONTARIO CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP for Graduate Studies in the Field of Concrete Research
Anyone who is completing or has completed studies for the bachelor’s degree from an accredited program may apply for this award. This award consists of a stipend of $1,000 (CDN) for a one-year period.
The following criteria must be met by the applicant:
- Possess a bachelors degree from an accredited higher education institution before the start of the next academic year (and not necessarily at the time of application).
- At the time of acceptance of this award (and not necessarily at the time of application), the applicant must have been accepted for graduate study. The graduate program MUST be in concrete research and design or concrete construction at an accredited university in ONTARIO (Toronto, Royal Military College, Laurentian, Lakehead, McMaster, Ryerson, Western, Guelph, Queens or Waterloo) which offers such a graduate program.
- Must be a full-time graduate student during the entire scholarship year.
The application must be typewritten or computer printed. Responses to questions on the application must be answered on the form. Do not attach additional sheets. The application must be accompanied by undergraduate records of academic performance (transcripts).
Statements of appraisal of the applicant in terms of growth, character, leadership capacity, and career interest from three evaluators are required; at least one must be from a faculty member. The statements of appraisal must be returned directly to ACI Ontario Chapter by each evaluator. Recommendations sent to the ACI by the applicant will not be accepted. Applicants must ensure that ACI is in receipt of these appraisals prior to the application deadline.
ACI will accept applications from anywhere in the world, but study must take place in Ontario, Canada.
